Assistant's Name: Deanna Dona

Dr. Mathur is a Professor at the Carman and Ann Adams Department of Pediatrics and Assistant Dean of the MD/PhD Combined Degree Programs & Postdoctoral Affairs. A tumor immunologist by training. Dr. Mathur is involved in research and trainin in international health, immunology, and complementary medicine. She is Associate Director of the Institute of Medical Education, where she co-directs the Pediatric Global Health Graduate Certificate. Dr. Mathur has also written a book series for children, and is deeply committed to promoting literacy among children.

Dr. Shields is the Associate Center Director for Clinical Research at Karmanos Cancer Institute.  His research focuses on the development and testing of tracers for use with positron emission tomography (PET) for the assessment of a variety of tumors (e.g. brain, lung, breast, and prostate cancers) and their response to treatment. His clinical work focuses on the development of new drug therapies for the treatment of solid tumors, especially GI cancers.

Dr. Stellini is a graduate of WSU School of Medicine and also has a Master's degree in Clinical Nutrition.
He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and Chief of the department's Section of Palliative Medicine, as well as the Medical Co-director of the Hospice at Karmanos Cancer Institute and Associate Director for Clinical Practice in the WSU Center to Advance Palliative care Excellence (CAPE).  His academic interests are in undergraduate and graduate education and symptom management, particularly around end of life.
